2008 Resident Pool Registration Under Way

Register today to enjoy the pools all summer! … Although the early-bird deadline has now expired, Franklin Farm residents can still get a pool season’s worth of fun for a very reasonable price!

To sign up, simply complete the pool membership registration form below and mail it or bring it — along with your $165 payment and the required family photos (photos can also be e-mailed) — to the Foundation offce at 12700 Franklin Farm Road, Oak Hill, VA 20171.

The pool season runs from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, May 24 to September 1. Click on the following links to access a copy of the 2008 Resident Pool Registration Form as well as FAQs that will help answer general questions. Call the Foundation office, 703-620-6230, if you have questions that are not answered in these documents.

Mandatory Swim Tests

Beginning this year, all pool users age 13 and under (except Froggers) must take a swim test before the opening of the pools to help identify swimmers from non-swimmers.

Please be sure that all the young people in your family comply with this requirement by taking a test at Still Pond Pool during the following dates and times:

Saturday, 5/17 — 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Sunday, 5/18 — 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Monday, 5/19 — 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Wednesday, 5/21 — 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday, 5/23 — 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday, 5/24 — 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. (prior to opening @ both pools)

Swim Lessons

Three, two-week (8-day) sessions of NVSwim Kids will be offered this summer. The cost for each two-week session is $57.25. If interest and demand warrant, a fourth 4-day mini-session may be offered in August at one-half the regular price.

• The classes are one-half hour in length and are held at the Pool on Monday through Thursday for two consecutive weeks, usually at 10 a.m. or 10:30 a.m., depending upon the assigned class.

• Fridays are used as makeup days in the result of a cancellation earlier in the week.

• Registration, including screening and payment, is made with the Lesson Coordinator at the Pool.

• Information and the schedule for classes will be available opening day, and calendars are available at the pool.

NVSwim Kids Class Schedule

Session 1 — June 23 to July 3
Session 2 — July 7 to July 17
Session 3 — July 21 to July 31
Session 4 — August 4 to August 7 (4-day mini-session)

Memorial Day Weekend Pool Use

If you and your family members want to swim over the Memorial Day weekend, you must register for the pools no later than 12 noon on Friday, May 23. If you submit your registration materials after 12 noon on the 23rd, you will not be able to swim until Tuesday, May 27. Due to the processing time required to input your membership in the computer (and the closing of the Foundation office for the Memorial Day holiday), we regret that we cannot make exceptions to this policy.
