Pool Notes . . .

• Mandatory Swim Tests … All members and guests 13 years old and under will be administered a swim test. The test consists of swimming the length of the pool and treading water for one minute in the deep water. All children less than age 9 must demonstrate their swimming proficiency annually. Children age 9 and over who demonstrated swimming proficiency in the prior pool season are not required to take the swim test again. Franklin Farm Swim Team members who are certified by the President of the Franklin Farm Swim Team as swimmers are not required to take the swim test.

Those young people (13 years old and under) who are unable to pass the swim test are considered non-swimmers. All non-swimmers must wear a red wristband and must have a parent or responsible person, 16 years old or older, remain within arm's reach of the non-swimmer whenever the non-swimmer is in the pool.

• Swim Lessons … Three, two-week (8-day, Monday through Thursday) sessions of NVSwim Kids will be offered this summer, starting on Monday, June 22. The cost for each two-week session is $59.50. If interest and demand warrant, a fourth 4-day mini-session may be offered in August at one-half the regular price. NVPools will also be providing private lessons. See the manager at the pool to sign up.

• Guest Passes … Paper guest passes will be sold at the Foundation office in books of 5 or 10 in the amount of $2.00 per pass. Each pass has a place for the date, member’s name and address, and the name of the guest. Each pass must be completely filled out before the guest can enter the pool. Pool members must accompany their guests while they are visiting the pools.

• Pool Parties … Pool Parties must be arranged through the Foundation office. Call 703-620-6230 for information.
