Winter is upon us now, but pool season is not far away. In fact, registration
for the 2010 Pool Season is under way!
The 2010 Resident Pool Registration Form can be found
here and on page 11 of the January Almanac. You can also pick
up a form at the Foundation office.
At the time of registration, you must provide (1) a completed
registration form, (2) a check for the required registration
fee, and (3) photos of all family members. Your
registration cannot be considered complete until all three of these requirements
have been satisfied.
A list of Frequently Asked Questions that
often arise at registration time apprears below. If your question is not
answered here, please call the Foundation office at 703-620-6230.
— What is the cost of pool membership? … The
regular resident pool fee is $150 per year, if you register on or before
April 30, 2009. On May 1, the fee increases to $175. This charge includes
all your immediate family members. We regret that we do not offer a reduced
rate for single members.
Other fees apply to child-care providers, au pairs, and children being
cared for by pool members who are child-care providers as well as for
non-residents wishing to use Franklin Farm pools. All pool fees are detailed
in Policy Resolution 5I: Pool Fees, Guest-Pass Fees, and Non-Member Limits.
Please call the Foundation office for more information.
— What is the pool check-in process? … The check-in process
is computerized. Members will give their last name or account number to
the lifeguard who enters it into the pool software. The lifeguard will
then check off each of the members attending. All guests must present
a completed paper pass and sign in at the pool desk when they arrive.
— Do I need to submit a new photo? … If you registered
for the pool last year and are an adult (18 years or older), you do not
need to send in a new picture with your registration. Adult photos are
good for 7 years. Children 17 years and under MUST submit a new photo
every year with registration.
— What about guests? … Each pool membership includes
10 paper guest passes, which must be picked up (and signed for) at the
Foundation office. Additional guest passes can be purchased at the Foundation
office during the week or by check at the pool on weekends when the initial
allocation has been used. All guests must be accompanied by a pool member.
— How will my photo be used? … All photos are located
on the computer. At check-in, a photo is displayed on the screen for the
lifeguard to verify identity.
— Do I have to carry a card? … No. By storing the photos
at the pool, no card is necessary at this time.
— Can I give you an 8x10 photo? … Yes! No picture is
too big, only too small. When enlarging photos that are too small, they
become distorted. A photograph showing an individual from the shoulder
and up is a good size, such as in a school or passport photo.
— I have tons of photos. Do you have a preference of which format?
… We prefer a high-resolution digital photo of each family member. Please
e-mail digital pictures to poolphotos@franklinfarm.org. Be sure to indicate
who is who in your photos. Also include your name, account number, and
address. The Foundation office will scan any hard-copy pictures that arrive
in the office.
— I mailed in a photo with my application. Can I have it back?
… We are sorry, but we are not able to return your photo. Please do not
send your one-and-only copy.
