2009 Election Results

Voting in the 2009 Franklin Farm Election closed at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, and Inspectors of Elections counted the ballots that morning. In all, 368 valid ballots were received, representing 19.8% of the Foundation members eligible to vote. The election results appear below.

• Peter Arena, Sulayman Brown, Mark Carbo, and Larry Danforth were elected to fill the four (4) available seats on the Board of Trustees. They will serve two-year terms.

• The following neighborhoods had the required minimum 25% of neighbors voting to have a valid Neighborhood Board. They were Applegrove, Cross Creek, Dower House, Fern Hollow, Flintwood, Heritage Meadow, and Tuckaway.

• The following neighborhoods had enough people to form Neighborhood Boards but did not reach the minimum 25% voting requirement. The Board of Trustees must sanction the boards from the following neighborhoods: Foxlease, Still Oaks, Stone Heather, and Tranquility.

• The following neighborhoods had less than three (3) people run for their Neighborhood Boards and, therefore, need to have individuals appointed as points of contact: Dairy Lou, Hidden Meadow, Laneview, Rosemere, Rounding Run, Willow Glen, and Wrenn House.

• The following neighborhoods do not have a Neighborhood Board or a point of contact: Ashburton Oaks, Autumn Hill, Bramblewood, Briargate, Brynwood, Gatepost, Huntsfield, Still Pond, Wildmere.

Many Thanks to Franklin Farm Volunteers

Franklin Farm’s Volunteer Reception, held at the Still Pond Community Center on Friday, May 8, paid tribute to all those board and committee volunteers who gave their time and talents in service to the community during the past year.

Sincere thanks go to Monica Despins and the members of the Election Committee, sponsors of the event; to Franklin Farm staffers; and to Heritage Landscape Services, who donated the door prizes.

Attendees at this popular event were treated to an array of Mexican goodies, cool drinks, and lively conversation. President Paul Dykeman presented a service plaque to Sandy Phillips in recognition of her long-standing service as co-chair of the Pool Committee.
