Snow
Summit
The Fairfax
County Board of Supervisors will host a Snow Summit
at the Fairfax County Government Center, 12000 Government Center
Parkway, Fairfax, VA 22035, in the Board Auditorium on March
16 at 3:30 p.m. The summit will be televised live by
Channel 16.
The Snow Summit is a public meeting that anyone
can attend, but it will not be a public hearing. The focus will
be on what worked well and what did not during the historic February
snow events. However,
you are invited to share your stories or ideas to help better
manage the next snow event. You can do this by either phoning
703-324-3170 or going to the Web at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/news/snowsummit
and
clicking on the "Tell Us" or "New
Idea" button.
Earth
Day

On Saturday,
April 17 (rain date: April 24) Franklin Farm
will celebrate Earth Day 2010 from 9 a.m. to
12 noon @ Still Pond Community Center.
Traditional neighborhood
cleanups will take place that day, and residents can
volunteer to work with members of the Open Space Committee and
other volunteers to clean up a number of open space sites that
are overgrown with invasive, non-native vegetation and to replace
it with native plants.

Welcome
to Franklin Farm ...
We are a community
of 1,777 homes, encompassing 850 acres, located in western Fairfax County.
Franklin Farm is approximately 20 miles from Washington, D.C., and 4 miles
from the Dulles International Airport and the Dulles Annex of the Air
& Space Museum. Our neighborhoods lie between the primary
entrances of West Ox Road on the east and Centreville Road on the west.
We are easily accessible to Fairfax and Reston via the Fairfax County
Parkway that runs north/south through the center of our community.
We
are particularly proud that 182 acres of open space are spread throughout
our neighborhoods to offer a recreational environment for our residents. Our
facilities include tot lots, tennis courts, basketball courts, hiking
trails, and swimming pools. Several community-sponsored events throughout
the year -- such as our Earth Day observance, the Country Hoe Down, pool
parties, and ice cream socials -- bring the community together in the
spirit of friendship. Our residents are friendly, caring individuals who
traditionally give of themselves to make Franklin Farm the nice place
that we like to call "Our Community ... Our Home!"
